NÖIA is born from the inertia of being a musician and living in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. In the oldest cradle of catalan punk rock, between towels on the beach and elbows on bar counters, Gemma Rodríguez (Two Dead Cats, Nord), Gerard Valverde (Crossword, Clarice, Saint Tropez), Johnny Clara (Pitt Marvel, Kathon) and Jordi Busot (Pitt Marvel) meet in 2019 at the old Atzavara premises, band orphans to begin to fit together guitars and catchy choruses. As they already know that it will all be about punk rock and raised-fists dancing, faithful to the genre that has been around town since the ancient Sant Feliu Fest.

In 2022 they release “NÖIA” with Saltamarges and just like in their shows, without time to breathe or play half-times, in 2023 they record “II”. Both with the band’s friend and guru of guitar records Santi Garcia. The formula is clear and concrete. Rhythmic base riding without monotony. Basses that spin rhythm and melody pushing forceful and melodic guitars to put the voice in the foreground. An infallible formula reinforced by a voice that is versatile in registers and direct in words.
NÖIA seek direct and everyday identification. A look that is as activist as it is customary to expand on struggles such as the education of children and the multiple robberies we suffer.
Gemma embraces the contradictions of eternal youth and achieves the direct identification of the listener with odes to friendship that are confused with love, if there is any difference.
